Morgenmad Udenfor

Much like daffodils signal spring, so too does eating outside! We hardly have a "bistro" life here in Scotland, but we definitely take advantage of what little good weather comes our way, no matter what time of year. So today, we had our first outdoor breakfast of the year. What the photos don't tell you is that it started raining 5 minutes after we cleared up and put the laundry outside to dry. Ah well.

A City's Architecture

I've been attending some lectures on Aberdeen's architecture these past few Monday nights. It's a short series given by one of my Trustees, Dr. Bill Brogden. If I could do it all over again, I'd study architecture, or maybe even more specifically, the history of architecture, but I digress. It's been nice to be able to look at Aberdeen through fresh eyes. How many times have I passed by that building and failed to notice the chimney is on a 45' angle (versus the usual 90')? Or stared at the booooring shop fronts, bemoaning the Brit's lack of fashion sense, whilst a quick glance up at the facade on the rest of the building would put a smile on my face. I guess it's nice to be forced to stop and take in these views that we pass by every day, take for granite'd (ha-ha) every day, even come to dislike every day, and see the beauty in their design.

Pretty Winter's Day

Here are some photos from a little walk we took today around the Cults countryside. Couldn't resist the sunshine! It's still cold though.

Snowdrops - the first sign of spring!

It's a start

Maybe it's because we've just got an ipod and I'm feeling all electronically sentimental, that I've caved into the blog and decided to start one of our own, even though we don't really have any thing exciting or fun to say and live fairly uneventful lives. So, I give you Danifornia Living - a Dane and a Californian in Scotland. Here's to hoping this year brings adventure!
