This past weekend we journied up the north east coast to visit our friend Lyn in St Andrews. Lyn & I used to work together at the Kirk in Aberdeen and we've remained good friends since. We had stunning weather - clear, bright blue skies and a warm breeze. On our way up the East Neuk, we stopped in the beautiful village of Elie. On a day like that was, you couldn't imagine being somewhere more beautiful.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time with Lyn, taking the dogs out for walks along the beach or golf courses, and just catching up. It was nice to spend a little time in Scotland - we find ourselves missing home.

Rosie's Birthday Collar
Rosie got a new collar for her birthday, albeit a bit late. Can you tell what's on it? It's a little difficult to get her to sit still...

Go to Rachel's blog and click on the Madsen cycle link on the right side of the page. They're giving away a super cool bicycle each month, worth $1200!
Great North Run
Rosie & I went to check out the start of the world-famous Great North Run this morning. Apparently, it's the largest 1/2 marathon in the world, and it's certainly the most popular, with more than 50,000 entrants! The starting line is just over the Moor, so quite close to us.

I hope to run next year, but it can be difficult to get an entry, so we'll see.

Project - Done!
I finally finished the little cabinet this weekend. It'd taken a bit longer than anticipated, largely because I ended up having to remove (through scraping) the many initial paint layers, and then it required several coats of paint. But it's done and in place and I'm pleased.

Jolly Jaunt
This past Sunday, we went out for a country walk by Dave & Ailsa's new place in Ogle. We were outnumbered by dogs, 2-1: 1 Westie and the rest being Spaniels. Rosie enjoyed playing with her best friends and - a country treat - rolling in all the muck she could find. And by muck, I mean poo and pee and mud and musk.
Afterwards, we went for a fantastic Sunday afternoon pub lunch at Standfordham. We're ready to move to the country!
