Sunny Saturday

We are officially sans sofa for a week.


So we took a page from the dog's book and took a wee nap on the floor in the sun.


Does that pillow look familiar? It's officially the nap pillow! Perfect.


Even Rosie thinks so.


That's how we roll on sunny Saturday afternoons.

Dring, dring!

This past week Ole got me the best non-Valentine's day gift ever! I was in need of a new bike bell. My original one with a ladybug had gotten smashed when somebody dropped my bike. A subsequent replacement wasn't quite doing what it needed to either.

Enter Dring Dring, a wicked cool Canadian company that produces hand painted bike bells.


I mean- how awesome is this?! A doughnut bike bell!


And it's superior quality- solidly built with top bell-ringing action.


The old inferior, and let's face it, ugly bell.


New one in place. I'm hungry already!

Look what I found!

I stopped by the local charity shop yesterday when I was making a run to the shops and found this little bell on a shelf, calling out to me.


It's perfect- just needed a little polishing on the handle, which I did with baking soda and lemon in about 30 seconds.

Shiny!


What are the chances a little Danish Christmas bell from 1981 (Ole's 1st Christmas!) would end up in Jesmond?



It'll be joining our other random ornaments next Christmas. Can't wait!

It's a wrap

Like most girls, I appreciate a prettily wrapped package. So when this arrived today I was bemused.


Not that I wasn't expecting it - I definitely had placed an order. I just didn't think it had amounted to that much!


And it didn't. You probably can't tell too well from these photos but this is one giant box filled with a lot of air. Oh and a couple little bundles of cotton and wool.


I'll give Hobbs credit - they do do nice wrap. But seriously. Did a shirt, trousers, jumper and jacket warrant a massive box? Apparently so. I'm guessing that's part and parcel (ahem) of the shopping experience. Good thing I know how to recycle!
