Weekend in Embleton

Last weekend, we took off up the north coast for a little anniversary break. Our friends have a couple holiday cottages in the small village of Embleton, so we stayed there in the East Lodge Croft. It was perfectly relaxing and cosy.

On Saturday, we walked along the beach to Low Newton-by-the-Sea, where we had lunch at the Ship Inn. Can't be a fresh crab sandwich and locally brewed beer!

I really enjoyed your pictures of your weekend. I imagined myself there to enjoy the mix of cold, bright sun and natural elements without too many people. I can see after all that there are some redeeming aspects of the northeast England that encourage you to stay. If we come for Christmas some year, can we also get a taste of this?
