Mid-January Doings

This is sort of a catch all post - things that we've been doing in the past few weeks, aside from work, of course.

I finally signed up for a veg delivery scheme. My friend Emily recommended one she uses and after checking it out, it looked perfect. We had our first delivery this week. All produce is organic and where possible, local and seasonally sourced. They're really flexible with what you can order and how often and how much. We signed up for the fruit and veg bags, along with free range organic eggs and milk. But they're more than just that. In addition to the produce, they give a 1 page note, which tells you where the food has come from, some helpful recipes, and just news in general. I'm really looking forward to this! Some of the delights we've gotten this week are: purple sprouting broccoli, cabbage, beetroot, blood oranges, kiwis, bananas, apples, pears, carrots, onions, potatoes, butternut squash and courgettes. What's not to like?!

I've also re-jigged (again - I know) some of our "artwork." We were at a wine tasting a few months ago and I saw a poster there I really liked. I couldn't find a place to purchase, so I did the next best thing - downloaded whatever images I could find online and created my own collage. It took a bit of work to get images with a high enough resolution, but I'm really pleased with the result. The print resides in the kitchen, next to the fridge. I like how the colours echo and compliment the new trio by the dining table. It's a nice visual effect.

I also moved our Newcastle print by the clock (over the sofa) to the hall to make room for a print I purchased a couple months ago. I'm waiting for the mat/mount, but we'll have a photo of that soon. It's cool, trust me.

Finally, we had a lovely walk this morning out on a very frozen moor. We've had an unseasonably warm, and windy, winter. This weekend is one of the few seriously frosty days we've had. I don't think it'll get above freezing, so we're wrapped up!
